Develop your Idea
My aim is to create a photography collective with a minimalistic approach. Being a strategic design and management student, most of my work is theoretical, however photography is something that I would love to integrate in my work. As of now, this website exhbits photos and text by me, but potentially, I would like to create location categories, and have photographers send in their photos and the stories connected to it.
Discovery and Research
Denis Reggie
Denis Reggie's website uses a grid layout with alternating images and text. This is the idea that I am aiming for with my website as I want it to be an amalgamation of storytelling and photography.
Josh Nice
John Nice's portfolio focuses on minimalism. His pictures are in black and white only, making his work look cohesive, and an art piece as a whole. I would convert my photos into greyscale use earthy green highlights to create my website. The minamilistic grid layout makes the work look systematic and fluent.
Target your audience
My target audience would be photography enthusiasts who are interested in scenic photography. Potentially, I would like this to be a platform for students to display their photographs and write ups to make it a shared community with better connect between the participants.
Inspiration and Concepts
I created this moodboard on illustrator, using inspiration from my nature, furniture, wallpapers and shapes that I think best fit the theme I am going for. Like I mentioned, I will be taking a minimalistic approach, relying on black as the primary color. I will use green and white as highlights for when the website is viewed on smaller screens.
