Instant Ramen Tantanmen
Wait, what is Tantanmen?
A spicy, incredibly tasty Japanese ramen noodle soup based on Chinese “Dan Dan Mian,”
or Dan Dan Noodles, a spicy Sichuan dish of noodles
Ingredients
- 1/2 tbsp oil
- 100g ground pork
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp peanut butter
- 2 cups hot water
- 1 cup milk
- 1 pack instant ramen (pork-based ramen works best; we recommend spicy Jin Ramen)
- 1/2 tbsp chili oil (optional)
Procedure
- In a pan over high heat, add the oil.
- Add the ground pork and cook until well browned.
- Add the soy sauce and peanut butter and cook until peanut butter is liquid.
- Add the water, milk, and ramen seasoning packets and stir to combine, then bring to a boil.
- Add the ramen noodles and cook until noodles are tender.
- Place everything into a bowl and top with chili oil.
