Julia Kim

Product Design, BFA — Parsons School of Design

Julia Kim is an emerging and determined design student pursuing a BFA in Product Design with a minor in Communication Design at Parsons School of Design in New York City. With internship experience in fashion and furniture design, she is motivated to explore diverse facets of industrial design in order to build a holistic and well-rounded understanding of how products function within larger systems and across industries. Storytelling plays a central role in her work, grounding each design in purpose and impact.

Currently, Julia is especially interested in medical and clinical design, exploring how empathy, care, and narrative can be integrated into products that are often perceived as sterile or impersonal. Through research-driven projects such as Droplets and Dexica, she applies psychological principles and user-centered research to improve user experience, soften clinical aesthetics, and emphasize empathy as a core value in her design process.
