1) Develop Your Idea
I want to create a professional but interesting personal website that shows my creative artwork and also addresses my major and orientation, which is interior design. The main idea that I want people to see at their first slight is that this is an interior designer website. I will be putting mainly my studio works, photograph, and material study. Meanwhile, I also want my website to stay playful and funny because as an artist I should show my passion about color and creative ideas. There will be definitely a lot of images and photos, color and font will also be one of my main element to play with. In addition, an eye-catching interactive landing page will then lead viewers to the home page, which can navigate them to my work or my information.
2) Discovery and Research
As a starting point, I researched for lots and lots of interior design company’s website, from private owned to large corporates. Such as a New York based interior design firm that I’m interested in. Parts and Labor Some of them don’t have a landing page, but straight forwards and show viewers their spam of works and the core value. Paris Forino Kinship Well-rendered images are showing in a way of album where people can browse by clicking the right button. This lines up the project effectively and also save most of the space on one page. While I was browsing those website, I was mostly intrigued by the way they layout their project and guide viewer to go in and out into different section of their information. Moreover, I was amazed by some of the motion effects that they have to upgrade their user experience. These are some amazing website that I was stunned when I first browsed through them. Jova Sokruta I then started to look into more commercial and developer’s website which certainly are aiming for a higher level of user experience. My eyes are dazzled by all those possibilities of effect that a mouse can trigger. Also, the style and layout varies a lot more in developer’s website because they need to create more fascinating effects to attract customers’ attention. Whereas shopping sites need to serve the basic function for customers to understand easily.
3) Target Your Audience
My audience is future employers in the design industry and people who are interested in my art and design. They will most likely find my website through my social media account or from my resume where I link it to my profile. More importantly will be impressing the future employers that I show my design concept and my ability to create my own design. I want they to see what kind of art and style I’m interested in as well. The audience will most likely be into art and design as well which lead me to collaborate and corporate.
4) Inspirations
I think having a great background image and center the main intfomation in a smaller box is more likely to attract vistors' attention. Below are some captures of the website layout that I like.
