A Handmade Web

Page 2 discusses the online archive of the trace online writing centre holding original handmade webpages still in the exact state as when they were created. I think this is interesting as many argue that digital media won’t last forever and all our digital files and images will be lost in years time. This counters that as when you look at print media and physical art in museums and libraries, it is aging and goes through great acts of restoration in order to be maintained.

3 brings up the entire Apple ecosystem and how the user is only able to consume information and not create anything on their own as you are not able to view the page source. I’m curious as to why Apple has done this when they pride themselves on being for artists, Designers, and creatives. Was aesthetics and simplicity really that much more important?
