Vertical Reading

Interested in why this author takes such interest in bringing awareness to the many issues of Roma publication. They go very far in depth to describe the missing, alt covers, alt languages, etc versions that are numbered or not numbered. They have visualized their website so thoroughly that I can envision it with out ever have seeing the website. In addition I am also interested in viewing this website to see if everything the author stated still stands (there are now 379 publications listed on Roma’s Website. Over 100 new ones since the release of Vertical Reading). Interesting that they disregard the entire basis they’ve set up in order to acknowledge the issues with the website. Phaidon produces 1,182 books since 1998. 5.5 books a month. Thames and Hudson, over 1,000 as they produce 180 a year and have a backlist of over 2,000 titles. About 200 at Thames with Roma and can find a human scale of art book publishing. 17x24cm was considered the ideal size by OASE and Roma began to take that up.

Why is this book typeset and designed in 2 languages? Based off the authors name it appears he is Asian but I’m curious as to why the book was split in half vertically ? And if it has a deeper meaning that pushes the title Vertical Reading further?
