After doing this reading the difference between handmade websites vs. other Coorporate run sites like Facebook and Google became very apparent to me. There is a completely different feel to the hand made sites. The examples that I keep going back to in my head are the link to websites of your friends. The essence of it is that they are less a site where you gain infromation and more so a site that you experience and the second a user interacts with it, it becomes clear that another person made it not some mechine. Even though my coding skills are not at a very high level I still feel more drawn and my style feels more in line with this "handmade" concept. I am also a huge advocate for the mid 90's era of style in all forms which is another reason why I really like this "handmade" feel of a website.
