Vertical Reading

I started reading this text and as I finished the first page I flet pretty lost. I was slighty confused by the text and what it was getting at or trying to say. I wnated a visual of what Roma Books looked like and once I viewed their website the text became much more clear to me. My initial reaction viewing the "Roma Publications" website was aslo slight confusion. It was very bare bones and clearly looked like something that begginer or lazy coder who could only use HTMl created. Then I remember reading that this publication only employed three part time people and still produced a very high rate of books every year. Then the site and its long lost of verticle text and links became much more clear. After remembering that crutial piece of information I gained much more appriciation for "Roma Publications" and their style. To me their site and style gave off a very streamlined DIY vibe. Another aspect of this website and "spreadsheet that I love is how on the surface it seems very dull or bland but if you look underneath there's much more to be uncovered. One of the philosophies that the reading discussed about the "spreadsheet is how all of the people who contributed to each book were all represented in the same "artist" columb. This tells the reader that Roger Willems deeply cares about each cotributor of a book being paid respect for their work equally, by placing them all in the same columb. Looking back now it becomes so apparent that the reason why this website has never been changed since its creations in 1998 because of it's almost uniquly simpley style. This website was created in such a simple and striaght forward way that it could never possibly go out of style or ever be changed.
