Website Style Guide

Photography Website

Ken Geiger

kengeiger.com

Intent

To show photographic skills and range of abilities and to sell prints of the photos

Voice

The website is professional and yet demonstrates the passion the photographer has for his craft. The photos themselves are what drive the viewer to continue exploring the various galleries.

Tone

The dark background throughout suggests that you shouldn't really notice it. The images should be the forefront so all other design elements are kept simple so as not to distract. Similarly, the limited text conveys the same idea that the photos speak for themselves.

Brand

From my point of view the brand is approachable while still maintaining the air of complexity that not everyone could capture these images so the end result is upscale. It's not a scrapbook but a gallery of art.

Persona

There are many people who would be intersted in and attracted by this website. Mostly adults, but not exclusively. The website is artisitic, informative, and educational so that wide range of criteria draws a wide audience as well. Below are just a few

  1. Student of Photography
I would first include myself in this category.
  2. Patron of the Arts
  3. People interested in Human Interest news
