American Pygmy Chair was a student project and my first venture into furniture making. The chair was directly inspired by Andy Warhol's Electric Chair prints (images to the right); American Pygmy Chair took on a life of it's own outside of it's formal inspiration, becoming a personal and physical monolith with pagan and goat like qualities.
The wood burning finish add a gothic element to the normally mundane look pine boards and accentuated the knots and grain of the wood. The American Pygmy Chair was inquired about for purchase, but due to it's size I recreated it smaller to te client's liking. I still am in possession of this chair, if you have inquires, please email me here
