Idea Development

This planned site will serve as a hypothetical frame for one of my design projects where I will act as if this project is an actual product I am launching to sell. It will also be a learning experience for me to learn more about designing to not only tell a story but to persuade viewers to believe in this product.

Discovery and Research

I have gathered a collection of sites that will act as sources of inspiration both creatively and technically. The sites are below.

Of course, Apple has always been a source of inspiration for me and many others. Although Apple's visuals always stay new and up to date, I'm mainly paying attention to the technical aspects of this site. I like how responsive the site is and how well it seamlessly scales between screen sizes and devices. Additionally, the images on this site appear to be very sharp while maintaining a fast page loading speed; this is something I find unique to Apple's site so far.

Spotify has always been a company I've paid attention to and a name I always see everywhere I go. Although I don't use Spotify, their visual aesthetic has always been something I'm a fan of. Using clean, punchy colors, and very recognizable typefaces, Spotify consistently grabs my attention; even if I don't see the Spotify name, I can still recognize the unique design vocabulary just based on typeface alone.

Similarly with Spotify and Apple, Nike has both the technical and creative aspects of what I want to achieve in my website. I like the clean and consistent visual language across the site. I'm especially interested in how they naturally draw the viewer's eye to the products so subtly and effectively; the whole website uses shades of white and grays, consistent image sizes and shapes, and typefaces that don't distract, saving any variation for the brightly colored product inside each frame. On the technical side, I just like how the site is nicely responsive and easy to navigate despite being so dense in content.
