Intent

Marilyn Mugot is a French graphic designer and photographer from Paris. She states that she is "passionate about cinema, and photography," explaining that the style and subject matter of her photography draws heavy inspiration from movies and films. Mugot's website serves as a digital portfolio, showcasing her photographic series, videos, social media outlets, and contact information. By providing all of her work and information in one place, the site also acts as a visual resume for future business clients, partners, and visitors.

Voice

Since this site is meant to showcase works of art, most of the text is on the "about" page. Mugot's site mainly carries a casual voice. Although written in third person perspective, readers can still feel as if Mugot is introducing herself as she would in a normal conversation. Additionally, there is a sense of professionalism in her word choices. This is no surprise as the site is ultimately meant for presenting herself and her work to the world.

Tone

Mugot's tone throughout is slighly passive and impersonal, telling visitors only what she wants people to view her, which is as a professional in the industry.

Brand

Her brand is contemporary, sophisticated, and artistic. From her style of photography to her font styling and choices, visitors can immidiately feel how thoroughly thought out the overall presentation is.

Personas

Person A: First, this person is a stranger discovering Mugot for the first time. They might've seen or heard about her in a publication, but doesn't know much past seeing some examples of her work. This person is aiming to learn more about the artist. The site provides more than enough information to satisfy the casual visitor in the "about" page.

Person B: Next, this person is more knowledgeable about Mugot and is aiming to see more examples of her work, or even larger images than provided on her Instagram. Although the site provides a good range of her work, it lacks the newest pieces, and does not provide any larger sizes of images. The work on the site is also more carefully curated than her Instagram at the expense of variation.

Person C: Lastly, this person is completely familiar with Mugot and her work, and is looking to buy prints of her photographs. The site is well equipped for this person; the print store has a few photographs on display, with the option to request any other picture from the larger galleries. Each listing also provides specific details on the media the image is printed on, and the print format.

Competition

Mugot's site stands up fairly well to the competition. The site's style and character compliments her work nicely, and has a more unique feel than other photography or portfolio sites. Although well put together, her site can improve; her photo galleries only contain tiny thumnail-sized images meant for social media use on mobile devices. Since this is a portfolio site, it would be better for her to upload higher resolution images for a better view of her work.
