Voice
Her layout in the webpage is simple, but it’s clean and neat. Her website looks like a conversation with the viewers: while clicking on a picture, it gets enlarged. While all her corporations are also listed individually in one of the sections on her website, it’s at the same time a publicity for herself. Her published books are ready to be viewed on her website.
In short, Svarbova's website is:

Tone
Most of Svarbova’s pages are mainly filled with pictures, but they are not crowd at all. The unification of heights but variation in width of the pictures made her webpage much more lively. The pages are not rigid at all. For the page of her books, the focus turns to the publicity of her goods. It's directing to another website that has further information about her photo books.

Brand
Svarbova's brand is very unique. She has her own special way of color collision, which assembles highly saturated colors in a wonderful way. Svarbova's vibrant colors stand out among the simple backgrounds, while the text on the homepage are straightforward: with only the titles of her projects.
People might think that such a display is too "careless" or universal - a simple portfolio site is indeed working for most photographers. But for Svarbova, it's also a way to set her style apart.

Biography
Body Copy:
Maria Svarbova was born in 1988 in Slovakia. Despite having studied restoration and archeology, her artistic medium is photography. From 2010 to the present, the immediacy of Maria’s photographic instinct keeps on garnering international acclaim and is setting new precedents in photographic expression. She has received several prestigious awards, including the Hasselblad Masters Award, and her exhibitions have placed her among the vanguard of her contemporaries, attracting attention of prominent publications such as Vogue, Forbes, CNN or The Guardian around the world. Her work is a staple of social media’s limelight. Maria’s talent earned her a spot on the coveted 30 under 30 Forbes list as well as a commission for a billboard-sized promotion on the massive Taipei 101 tower in Taiwan. In 2019, Apple commission her to create an exclusive photography series shot by iPhone. This publication is preceded by two books of her photographs: Swimming Pool (2017) and Future Retro (2019). Swimming Pools presents an updated version of the now out-of- stock Swimming Pool, and it features new format, design and content.
Competition
The websites of the photographers' work are mostly similar. Basically, they all focus on displaying their own pictures and "About" pages. Svarbova's website is relatively simple in design, but the information is clear and concise, and the simple background color emphasizes her colorful style. Her competitors have the official website of Vivian Maier (vivianmaier.com) and Rinko Kawauchi (rinkokawauchi). For her competitors, she wins on simplicity and clarity, and the way her website design complements the style of her own work.Cosmo Wang
