SWOT ANALYSIS FOR UBER

The goal of this campaign was just to do a simple SWOT Analysis for one of the three companies Uber, Google Glass, and Citi Bike. My team had agreed on analyzing Uber which is a simple car service that allows you to commute with a variety of vehicles with convenience. A SWOT Analysis allows companies to make a high level assessment of marketing opportunities and determine target markets. It can help prioritizing customer needs, opportunities, and basically create some sort of base line product or service plan.


STRENGTH


Uber is a global brand and is even becoming very popularized inn various areas over seas. It hold ups to its promise of finding a ride in minutes. The system is very convenient for consumers to commute and has great accessibility through tools such as a mobile app that easily lets you track how far your driver is. The payment system seems trustworthy and easy to transact with little effort.


WEAKNESS


Pricing isn’t the exact price they seem to match the company promotes because it changes due to the time and your location and destination area. There have also been complaints that some women are charged more than men and reported sexual harassment (note: this information was left out during the presentations, we could not prove any of these claims.)


OPPORTUNTIES


Creating some sort of credit or reward points system, partnerships with other companies, and referral systems


THREATS


Other taxi drivers or brands who have a similar service, claims of credit fraud and taking information from mobile credit systems when paying at the end of the consumer’s ride, and government regulations.
