1. Develop Your Idea

As a strategic design and management student, this website will help me to introduce myself to the public. I will be sharing my own business goals, educational background, stories and experiences related to the fashion industries, and my works here with people.

2. Discovery and Research

I have visited various websites about business introductions and I found them to include one’s academic background, what can those figures bring into certain operations and what role do they play in an operation, why people should trust and even hire them, and how are they valuable as independent individuals.

From what I have learned, I believe my website will be organized in a way that is elegantly designed and uses calming sutural toned color pallet with a style of minimalism. This is because as a business experience-oriented page, the focus will be on the words instead of the images. The website aims to provide a very dedicated, serious, and focused feeling to the audience, giving them the idea of trustworthiness. I would share thoughts and experiences related to my academic background, for example, schools I have attended, plans I had for the future, goals I am still planning to achieve, etc. I will also be sharing my experiences with fashion and how is it like to participate in this industry as an insider and outsider.

I got most of my inspirations from two websites…

1) https://www.moma.org/artists/41?locale=en

a picture from MoMA website about artist Berenice Abbott

This website is from MoMA, it is an introduction about an artist, I like how it is arranged and it inspired me to make my name and current educational status in bold so that it seems obvious for readers to grasp the information. However, if there could be some decorations it would make the webpage even more aesthetically pleasing, which learning from that I will be adding small decorative elements to the page.

2) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Jobs

a picture from Wikipedia about Steve Jobs

This website is from Wikipedia, I went to Wikipedia because whenever I thought of an introduction of a business person I would always find related information on her website. I learned from the website that adding color to the page is for sure more engaging, and we should eliminate word counts to attract more readers, even though I am trying to talk about educational content, I still want to give people the vibe of a relaxing afternoon chat, telling my stories with people whoever needs it.

3. Target Your Audience

I am aiming for two groups of audiences, one would be successful operations and organizations who are looking for hiring or getting to know about how is the educational level or how is the competition level between young people like in the current market; the other group would be students and people who just graduated who are looking for people with experiences being in the fashion industry to find inspirations or wanting to see how and where other people are at, inspiring them to go further into what lies ahead for their future. Even though I am not going to be far ahead of everyone who is trying to participate in the fashion industry but people tend to like seeing other people’s experiences as inspirations and find ways that fit with them the most.

4. Inspiration and concepts

Concept mood boards:

1) The Chatroom

a nutural toned chatroom themed image

I wanted the readers to feel that going through my website is relaxing since I am trying to tell my own experiences to people like stories and making it more like relaxing chats. I hope people find a sense of comfort my learning about me and finding relatabilities with my experiences. I will also be providing my contact information, welcoming people to get in touch and discuss relatable issues.

2) The Nicoles

I can also tell my stories with two different identities, where one is more serious and business-oriented, while I can also talk in a very casual and playful way about stories providing people the chance to see different sides of me. Telling stories with different identities can also reflect different sides of me, providing a more realistic share with my audiences.

3) The playground

Here I will be sharing all my works, including paintings, sculptures, garments, etc. I wanted to provide playfulness to people and giving them the idea that this is a safe place to explore their interests or possibilities. People may also feel free to share their ideas with me by finding my contact information on the page. I want playfulness and happiness to coexist with the feeling of safety and worth exploring.
