conditional design by luna maurer, edo paulus, jonathan puckey, roel wouters

I like the idea of conditional design, but also find myself frustrated by it. While I do think that it is good as a conceptual way of thinking, I also feel a bit like it is not necessarily something realistic, or rather as something that is feels a bit like a try hard situation. I truly believe that the authors of the manifesto believe what they are saying, but I feel like it is also something that could easily become a way for people to explain their work away.

I like the idea of working as a continual process rather than thinking about working for a product. I think this is something that we should all try to implement in our own processes, but I do wonder about how much people read the conditional design manifesto and take that away from it and actually follow that methodology, rather than eventually claiming it as their way of making in order to seem "enlightened" or somehow lofty.
