Assignment 2- Midterm Worksheet
Develop Your Idea
I want to create a website that showcases my skills and identity as an artist and illustrator. My goal is for the site to be visually engaging and uniquely personal, standing out from the typical portfolio. To achieve this, I plan to incorporate custom elements like animations and animated text, which will bring a dynamic and interactive feel to the site. These features will not only highlight my technical abilities but also reflect my artistic style and personality. Ultimately, I want the website to serve as both a professional portfolio and an authentic representation of my creative voice.
Discovery and Research
I love pink, delicate, and minimalistic styles. Here are some websites I found to be inspiring through research:
SunnyWu: I not only love her work as an illustrator, but her website is very nice and has elements which I found very cute and unique, such as the animated text that floats across the screen of her "About" page. I also appreciate how easy it is to navigate.
MariaJesusContreras: I found her website very unique! I love her animated logo and the bold font choices for the title/headers. I also appreciated the large sizes of her artworks, as it made them stand out even more to me. The website also feels very professional as well as informative, for example, with the caption header at the top of her shop page that informs the user about shipping time.
Lisa Congdon: Her website is very fun and bubbly, and definitely leans into her personal, illustrative style. The navigation is also very interactive and animated/lively.
Target Audience
Customers, clients, students for inspiration, and anyone else who is interested in my work. To effectively engage these different audiences, I need to develop a clear and distinctive voice that not only showcases my skills but also reflects my artistic identity. This voice will serve as a guiding direction, ensuring that my website resonates with each type of visitor while maintaining a cohesive and professional brand.
