As a fashion designer and an artist, I struggle to
find a tunnel to express my opinions on topics
that are important to me. The only work I find
fulfilling is work that has an impact on the world,
and can ultimately affect humanity in a positive
way. What I do often seems frivolous because
it is only useful to me in that I find joy in it. I’m
conflicted because I am passionate about so
many topics and I have a strong urge to fix the
parts of the world that need some love, but the
only field I can really navigate and communicate
through is art. In all of my works I find a bal-
ance through opposites. I use a field that I of-
ten loathe—the fashion industry—to express my
take on relevant topics. Fashion as art is unique
in that it is universal—everyone wears clothes
and thus can relate. Fashion is not exclusive;
it’s all-inclusive. I vow to always make things
that will address, inform, and initiate change.
