Ungroundedness

My project captures the ungrounded, chaotic energy of life in New York. I created a wearable set of cardboard “wings” attached to the user’s back that push against exterior wind currents, pulling the body in unpredictable directions. The experience is meant to embody the spontaneity, frenzy, and lack of control that defines urban living. Cardboard, both fragile and stable, evokes impermanence and housing precarity, reinforcing the feeling of being easily influenced by external forces. This piece is designed for those seeking to understand what it means to exist in a state of constant motion, tension, and environmental pressure.

Children and Elderly Room & Adults Room

I designed separate rooms tailored to each individual’s needs and hobbies, all connected by a shared common area. Adults have a conversation pit with an overhead resting space, while the elderly and children share an activity area with bunk beds. Circulation flows through three hyaluronic platforms and open doorways that lead into the central communal space.

Back Perspective

I designed personalized spaces of repose that evoke tranquility, contrasting with high-activity zones.

Calmer areas include a color-gradient tunnel reflecting outdoor views, viewports, and compressed passages. These are balanced by dynamic elements like ramps, stairs, and moving platforms surrounded by disorienting mirrors and glass.
