Kostas Murkudis Style Guide

Intent

The intent of this website is to sell the skills of the fashion designer Kostas Murkudis

Voice / Tone

The website’s tone is extremely formal and minimalist. Kostas Murkudis uses the website as a portfolio of his previous collections, exhibitions, and works. The site not only exhibits his solo fashion work, it also serves as a portfolio for consulting, and creative directing work. The website is targeted not only at his consumer which seems to be educated upper class adults (21+), but also as potential vendors and or employers.

Form / Brand

Perhaps the most interesting part of the website is the 50/50 split down the middle. It is a brutalist design that transparently allows total navigation of the website from the beginning. Nothing is hidden; this design choice oozes confidence and sexiness as it entices you with every click. There is no doubt that what you find will be of master quality. The left is entirely filled with links to each collection, the right is filled with the images; scrolling on the right does not move the left and vice versa. It is very avant garde and gives the brand a high end look.
