The aim of this project is to look deeper into the root causes of gender inequality with a focus on the right to education or the lack of it for women which is a stark reality of time today in countries like Pakistan and India to name a few. The 21st century bought with it a wave of change and social progress in the realm of gender equality, however it is important to look at the causes that initially gave rise to omnipresent gender inequality. Today, more than ever it is inevitable to understand how important the need for women empowerment is. Bountiful data, coupled with statistics show why and how the same was not achieved in the past. That said, the project manoeuvres through facts and data, along with expert opinions to help aid the reader in understanding what women empowerment means today and how the modern definition and need raises issues of moral and ethical conscientiousness. We hope to leave the reader more aware and empowered, with an added ardour for women and their rights.
